This old 2.25" solid red oak hardwood floor had seen better days. You can see all the scratches and wear from everyday life in this family room, plus a rather huge completely worn out gray spot. Yes, gray! When the polyurethane top coats have completely worn off of your floor you will expose the wood to moisture from mopping or walking in from a snowy Denver Colorado day. Overtime, that moisture turns the exposed hardwood a dark nasty gray.
You will also notice my old Bona Vacuum and Clarke Super 7 edger on the case, sanding the perimeter.
Here you can see the fruits of my labor. Two sanding with the Bona Super 8 sander, a couple of edgings, a buff, a stain, and 3 coats later you can see the dark gray worn spot has been completely sanded out and is undetectable. All previous damages to the floor have been repaired. This 2.25" solid red oak floor was stained stained with Duraseal Spice Brown and finished with 3 coats of Duraseal Polyurethane.
The entire room has been warmed and really just brought back to life.
